Sherwood Side Chair

The Sherwood Side Chair has a quiet elegance that comes from letting good proportions and beautiful wood do the work. Its gently curved top rail, shaped back slats, and subtly flared rear legs soften the clean lines of the frame, creating a chair that feels refined without becoming formal.
Handcrafted from solid wood by skilled Mennonite furniture builders, the Sherwood is designed for everyday life around the table. Its shaped back provides comfortable support, while its straightforward construction gives it the durability needed for years of family dinners, celebrations, homework sessions, and conversations that run longer than expected.
Shown in Brown Maple with FC-40592 Earthtone stain and a wood seat, the Sherwood Side Chair measures 19.25″W x 22.5″D x 40″H overall. The seating area measures 18.75″W x 16.75″D with a 17.5″ seat height, while the back extends 24.5″ above the seat.
Choose from Oak, Maple, Cherry, Hickory, Walnut, or Wormy Maple, then select the stain colour that works with your home. Explore our finishing options to find a combination that makes the Sherwood your own.
Prefer a softer seat? The Sherwood is also available with an upholstered seat, with choices through Heartland Fabrics, including solid fabrics, faux leathers, premium fabrics, leather, and Customer’s Own Material.
The Sherwood collection also includes an arm chair, stationary bar stool, swivel bar stool, and desk chair, making it easy to carry the same graceful solid wood design from the dining table to the kitchen island or home office.
It’s a chair designed to belong rather than dominate, which is exactly what you want when the people around the table are the most important part of the room.
